Town or city welfare offices can connect you with a variety of services that may help you avoid becoming homeless. You can find most welfare offices at the town or city hall. See below for a list of local welfare phone numbers.
If you are in immediate need of shelter, emergency shelter is available at Cross Roads House to adults and families without other housing available. Admission to emergency shelters in Strafford and Eastern Rockingham Counties is all done through one point of Coordinated Access.
To reach Coordinated Access, please call 603-516-8143. Their office hours are 9am-5pm, Monday - Friday. Outside of the Coordinated Access business hours, the Cross Roads House staff are on site 24/7/365. The Cross Roads House office phone number is 603-436-2218.
Our service area includes Seabrook, Hampton, Exeter, Portsmouth, Dover, Rochester, Somersworth, Kittery, and surrounding towns. If you are outside this area please call 2-1-1.
For Local Welfare Administrators - Shelters are often at capacity, and persons calling directly are referred to Coordinated Access first. Please call Coordinated Access, rather than instructing clients to call or come to the shelter.
